About the artist
A 1993 Sir J.J. School of Art graduate, transitioned from abstraction to representational art, capturing the challenges of Indian urban life. His art transforms Mumbai's scenes, figures, and visuals with humor, blending photography, digital manipulations, and drawings on large canvases. Alongside his artistic pursuits, Sonpimpare, a skilled wordsmith, has exhibited solo in Mumbai and Dublin, while participating in group exhibitions across subcontinental cities since the mid-1990s. In 1992, he earned the Solomon Abraham First Prize for watercolor portraiture at the Sir J.J. School of Art.
